How DearSanta works
DearSanta.com® is a free holiday tool for families. Write your own letter to Santa Claus and make a wish list, add your children if you like, and Santa writes back. You decide who in your family can see each list.
Three steps
- Create your family account. Sign up with your email address and confirm it with a one-time code.
- Add your children, if you like. This step is optional. You choose each child's username and password. Children can't create accounts on their own.
- Stay in control. Write to Santa and build wish lists, and choose which grandparents, relatives and friends can see each list.
Questions parents ask
Do I see my child's letter before Santa does?
Yes, by default. Each new letter waits on your dashboard until you read it and approve it.
If you'd rather letters go straight to Santa, switch off "I review letters first" on your
child's card.
Who writes Santa's reply?
You do, by default. Use "Write Santa's reply" on your dashboard to write a personal reply in
Santa's name. You can also choose "Santa writes, I approve" on your child's card: about a day
and a half after the letter arrives, Santa writes a reply and it waits for you to read, then send
or not send. Or choose "Santa sends it" and Santa's reply goes out for you automatically.
Who can see my child's wish list?
Only the family members you choose. Gift-givers can quietly tick "I'll buy it" so presents
aren't doubled up, and your child never sees who is buying what.
What information do you collect about my child?
Only what the site needs: a nickname and username you choose, their letters and their wish
list. We don't sell their information, show them ads or paid links, or put tracking cookies on
our site. See our

Can I delete my child's information?
Yes, at any time. Open your dashboard, choose "Edit" on your child's card, then "Delete
account". That permanently removes their account, letters and wish list. You can also email
privacy@dearsanta.com and we'll do it for you.
Does it cost anything?
No. DearSanta is free.
